Established in 1930 the Freckleton Cricket Club continues
to offer juniors the chance to play the game and this season will
see teams represent Freckleton in a number of age groups of the Palace
Shield junior competition. The importance of a successful junior section
is emphasised by the number of players who have become key members
of both the 1st and 2nd XI with the 3rd XI being primarily junior
members.
We are always striving for achievement and welcome any fresh talent
to add to any of our senior and junior teams. If anyone is looking
to play cricket, please do not hesitate in pointing them in our
direction.
If you would like to join Freckleton CC simply pop down to the
Bush Lane ground on a Tuesday or Thursday evening. Any one of the
members attending the senior nets will be more than happy to help
you. |

"Ever thought about performing on stage but never had the the opportunity? Why not give it a try. We are actively seeking new members of all ages to join us.
Harlequins is a small group so there is plenty of opportunity to get involved in one way or another by taking part in our many Murder Mysteries that we do both at Freckleton and other locations as well as our 2 main plays a year at the Memorial Hall. We meet regularly at Warton Village Hall on Sunday evenings at 7:30, so just turn up to see what we get up to or give Chris a call on 01772 880203 for an informal chat. We are members of NODA (National Operatic & Drama Association). It sounds grand but they always give us good advice when staging plays and we get a chance to win an award each year" |

The Women's Institute is
a great national organisation for women of all ages, catering for
a wide range of interests, including crafts, cooking, walking, music
and drama, sport,
holidays, days out to places of interest - in fact something for
everyone. Denman College
in Oxfordshire, a beautiful Georgian house set in its own grounds,
is the W.I's own
Residential Adult Education College, offering a wide range of two
and three day courses
to members, allowing them to develop new skills or knowledge on
a wide range of
subjects.
There has been a Women's Institute in Freckleton since April 1922,
and it continues to
be an important part of village life. Meetings are held in the Freckleton
Memorial Hall on the 2nd
Tuesday of each month at 7.30 pm from February to December. These
are friendly and
relaxed evenings with a speaker - a programme covering a wide range
of subjects, is
arranged each year - a competition, and afterwards there is time
for a chat with friends
over a cup of tea and biscuits and often a light hearted quiz. During
the summer months
trips are arranged, including a popular mystery trip.
