Freckleton Fun Run
It was Club Day weekend this last weekend and
on Sunday the 18th June, the second Freckleton Fun Run was held.
Along with 200 runners the majority of the Freckleton Younger Years
committee and friends, put on their running shoes to pound the pavement
to raise funds for the building of the Youth Club. Despite the weather
not being very kind to us, we ran, jogged and power walked the two
mile course with lots of fun and plenty of encouragement from the
good people of Freckleton!
Now that we've completed our challenge, with a few aching muscles
and sore feet, (thank goodness it wasn't the half-marathon!) we
will be collecting the sponsorship money from all of the kind people
who have generously sponsored us on this fundraiser.
We hope to exceed the amount we raised last year as we have had
such a wonderful response from everyone. As soon as we know the
exact amount we will be proud to announce it, so watch this space!

A great big thank you to all who ran the Fun Run and they are Carol,
Martyn, James and Adam Thomas, Julie, Katrina and Jared Armitage,
Anne and Josh Klegg, Christine Slater, Kimberly Holloway, Lucy Robson,
Emma Williamson, Lucy Clements, Jackie Archer and Claire Thompson.
It's not too late to sponsor us as there are collection
boxes in the village at the following places, so please help us
if you can, nothing is too small!
Londis
Whittles
The Ship
The Plough
The Coach and Horses

GREAT NEWS - ONE
STEP CLOSER TO A YOUTH CLUB IN FRECKLETON! The
Younger Years Committee have been given land by the Parish Council
on which to build a Youth Club! This is a fantastic event as the
reality of a purpose built Youth Club is now closer for the young
people of Freckleton.
Members of the Younger Years Committee can now
go ahead with raising money to fund the building and furnishing
it. This is where the good citizens of Freckleton (and anyone else)
can help too. If you would like to donate to this worthy cause,
no matter how small, it would be very much appreciated. You can
do this by sending a cheque, made out to Freckleton Younger Years
Committee, to Carol Thomas or myself at the following addresses:-
Younger Years Committee members:-
Mrs Julie Armitage, Lanview, Bunker Street, Freckleton Preston Lancs
PR4 1HA
Mrs Carol Thomas, 14 Kirby Drive, Freckleton Preston Lancs PR4 1ST
Alternatively you can make a payment direct to
the Younger Years account at:

If you prefer Terry and Gail Brown at Freckleton
Rover Centre, Naze Lane Industrial Estate, Freckleton have kindly
started a collection fund going to help our cause and can accept
donations as well. Thank you to the kind customers who have already
donated their spare change in their car or pockets to the Younger
Years fund, every little helps.
To thank everyone for donating and helping this
dream for the Youth of Freckleton become a reality there will be
an Acknowledgement Book. If anyone who has donated would like to
have their name placed into the book, which will be sited in the
Youth Club upon opening, they can contact Carol Thomas on 01772
493036 or myself, Julie Armitage on 01772 634684.
Come on Freckleton, lets show our community spirit
and get this building built sooner rather than later!
Thank you on behalf of the Younger Years
Committee

June. Special T-shirts with the Younger Years logo were worn to identify
them.
