Freckleton Club Day 2004

The 2004 Freckleton Club Day was held on the 19th June. Whilst it rained heavily early in the morning the weather improved and the sun came out for the parade and sports events. There was a chill in the strong wind and the banner carriers sometimes struggled to maintain their banners in a vertical position. The sports events were well attended and supported.

The Fun Fair made its usual appearance and included a reverse bungy jump for those people brave enough to try it! You can see pictures of the towers and two person cage on the last picture page.

The day started at 09:30am with a procession through the village of the United Churches headed by the Freckleton Brass Band. This was followed at 01:30pm by a brief service at the Freckleton Memorial and the Procession of Queens with the Fylde Association of Club and Fields Days, accompanied by the Freckleton Brass Band, from the village memorial to the Hodgson Playing Fields. Childrens sports were then held on the playing fields for the children of Freckleton.

The Freckleton Parish Plan Committee had a tent for the residents to indicate their views and ideas on the direction for the Parish Plan using a Star Board.
