BAe are obviously just trying to help the local communities, and they provide a lot of business to the local shops and pubs etc

I really feel I must comment on all the wonderful Xmas lights decorating homes and gardens this year in the village and also the big tree in the centre of the village is lovely. Also, one mustn`t forget the father Xmas on the roundabout, who brings a smile to the faces of those going to work on these dark, dreary mornings. Thank you so much, it is a pleasure to live in such a caring community.

BAE is a commercial business. They have some unused land which has a value. Obviously, they want to maximise that value. I doubt very much whether they really care about the needs and desires of local residents, beyond what is required to obtain outline planning permission. The land with planning permission has a higher value than land without. Simple economics.

I think BAE supply more than enough pollution especially noise, its really bad, if you complain, they promise to ring back, and then they forget it. its really not good enough, we ought to get a rate reducton. also the proposed supermarket isnt needed, as there are plenty of shops in freck. what happened to the swimming pool they promised???why couldnt they build a leisure centre??

It is very short sighted of people to believe that this proposal is good for Freckleton, once the supermarket is open you can say goodbye to our community.

Think of Freckleton without the newsagents, the butchers, bakers, Fruit and veg shops, sandwich shops, Spar and discount stores, these are the heart of the community and what bring people into the village. Once these shops are gone say goodbye to the likes of the Fish and Chip shops and maybe even a pub or two. Imagine a dead village centre with empty shops. If you don’t believe me look at all the empty shops in Kirhkam after it got a supermarket

Within about 5 miles you’ve already got 2 Morrisons, a new Booths and a Tescos Metro, within 8 miles add a Tescos Exta, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s and an ASDA

Why for once doesn’t BAE think of the local community and build affordable housing for young local people.

Looking at this development now, you may think that it will be detrimental. However it will benefit everyone, whether or not you realise it at this stage. BAe are doing their bit by turning a run-down site into something to benefit everyone.

Excellent idea to tidy up a tatty and run down area.
Must bring more jobs and prosperity to the area.
Well done BAE.

I must agree with the comments made by Cllr Robb that a development such as this which proposes supermarkets etc would lead to difficulties for our local community shops at a time when they need the support of the local community more than ever. Without seeing the BAe proposals in more depth it is difficult to see how the claim that it would improve the traffic flow/ congestion on Lytham Rd for local residents can be substantiated, it would also be interesting to see the scoping exercise that BAe have conducted regarding the need for such a redevelopment. Although not against the redevelopment of this site, it clearly should not be at the detriment of the local community.

As a young resident of Freckelton I find this development very exciting and promising for my future. I think the proposed ideas are of benefit to residents in both employment and convenience. BAe are clearly trying to help both neighbouring villages whilst also allowing them to prosper. I personally will be very grateful for the better range of facilities available. Good Luck BAe!!
